How to demonstrate trust and trustworthiness
This section provides considerations for how to communicate the work an organisation has done to be more trustworthy, and will primarily focus on outlining ways to demonstrate that an organisation has undertaken the steps outlined in the ‘Assess’ and ‘Build’ sections of the Trustworthy Data Stewardship Guidebook.
Working through the tools and activities in the 'Assess' and 'Build' sections of this guidebook should help an organisation become more trustworthy, and feel more confident in the trustworthiness of its data practices and any data it collects, manages, uses or shares. But to encourage others to trust you as a steward of data, an organisation should show that it has gone through this process, sharing the evidence and insights that it produced. For this to influence how people place trust in your organisation, you’ll need to carefully consider how you talk about the steps you’ve taken.
This section outlines three activities for demonstrating trust and trustworthiness. We recommend you proceed through them in order.
